Crazy Stupid Love

Oletteko koskaan tehneet mitään aivan totaalisen hullua, mitään, missä ei ole yhtään mitään järjen hiventäkään, jotain aivan sekopäistä?

Noh. Meitsi on, ja ylitin just mun hulluuden mittarin käyttämällä aikamoisen summan euroja siihen, että pääsen Helsinkiin viisi päivää aikasemmin... Jep.

Eli 5 tuntia aikaa ostaa kahdet lentoliput, napata lentotiedot talteen, pakata, tilata taksi, ajaa puolituntia kentälle, mahdollisesti jonottaa, check innaa, löytää portille, taittaa 650 km Madridista Barcelonaan, päästä koneesta ulos, paikantaa lähtöselvitys, jonottaa, check inaa toiselle lennolle ja löytää portti...

Lompakot passeineen ofc.

"He comprado un billette a Finlandia solamente 15 minutos antes... Estoy totalmente loca..."

Mitä vitun väliä rahalla loppupeleissä on? Toi summa rahaa ei tunnu missään, when there's so much at stake. It's a small fee for sanity and happiness. :)

Onko kukaan muu teistä tehnyt ihan umpihulluja juttuja rakkauden tai jonkun muun syyn vuoksi? Ostanut lentolippuja, matkannut vieraaseen maahan, 'taken a leap of faith' ? Olisi ihana kuulla, onko tän yhden sekopään lukijoiden joukossa muita sekopäitä? :')

Terv.
the hopeless romantic I am ♥

PS. en tiedä onko mun paluulippu enää voimassa, kun en kerran käytä menolippua... Pitääpi selvitellä KLM:n kanssa asiaa.. Aika iroonista kaiken ton lippusekoilun jälkeen 8D Mut meitsi ottaa no stress.

Adventuretime á la Madrid

Ei helvetti... Meil on ollu Ennin kanssa täällä Madridissa niin helvetin läppä päivä, ja ollaan tultukin jo siihen tulokseen, että muutetaan pois täältä helvetin kaupunginlaitamilta Villaviciosa de Odónin (aka vitun perseestä) Madridin keskustaan tan pronto como sea posible aka AS SOON AS POSSIBLE !

Mut niin, tässä syyt, miks tää päivä on menny hysteerisesti nauraen eli tän päivän kaikki mahdolliset feilaukset:

  • Oltiin tulossa koulusta takaisin dösällä, ja tarkoitus oli miitata vuokranantajan (Marion) sihteeri vuokrasoppareiden kirjoitusta varten villalla. Mutta koska tänne helvetin taloon on ihan mahdoton päästä helposti, missattiin joten helvetin ihmeellisesti meidän pysäkki, vaikka oltiin silmä kovana koko aika !!!
GOOD KARMA HAPPENS TO GOOD PEOPLE, Amen!!!

  • Life is good ja aurinko paistaa :)
PS. Anteeki kiroilu, meininki on menny ihan merirosvoksi täällä, kun kukaan ei ymmärrä, mitä puhun !

MEGA FAIL

Don't know how to begin but basically, I fucked up big time : DDDD

Do you notice something's wrong ?

Yep yep, quite much EFFORT to fly from Brussels to Helsinki when you're not in Belgium for starters... Megafaaaaaail. That's what happens when you find a cheaper ticket on the last minute and when you are pretty accustomed to buying plane tickets aka you get sloppy.

I was fucking choked, called Finnair but they can't do anything about it. + It's not like I booked the flights 15 minutes ago... I bought them two weeks ago and noticed only now when they sent me my itinerary or what ever. So yeaaah, good fucking luck getting to Rock Werchter ! (Probs forgot to mention but me and Masa are going!)

I just might might might might be able to turn things around.. we'll see! First have to contact some people and etc.

But if not... this is what IS going to happen (as I am broke, in debt and have no money to buy a new ticket):

Got a ride in a motherfcking JAGUAR !!
MADE IT !

Photos from 2009 summer when me and Jasmin hitched from Terneuzen (Holland) to Gent (Belgium) so we could catch the train to the same festival I am aiming for this year - ROCK WERCHTER !!!!

-BUT, happen what happens, the fact is, that there is no way in HELL I am missing Rock Werchter and e.g. Kasabian & Deadmau5 play...! HELL NO-

Keep your fingers crossed and I'll keep you guys posted!

PS. There is this one thing that happened to me for the first time ever ! Two days ago this girl came up to me at work and told me she read my blog !! aww, made me so happy ! So, if you read my blog and see me, come say hi! I don't bite, I promise :)

torstai 16. helmikuuta 2012

FUUUUCK YEAH

I FUCKING LOVE MY SCHOOL !!!

Check out what cool things our awesome teachers have been planning for us:

"Hi everyone,

First of all, I would like to thank all of you for the nice surprise that I found on my keyboard two days ago – happy belated valentine’s day to you all, too!

Second thing that you might have heard from Tero already… I am teaching Introduction to European Markets to EBA11 group and I have been planning Europe field trip for this May. This trip would be mainly for you and EBA11 (EM/EBA10 groups as well, if there are free seats left). Without further ado, this is what I have been planning:

April 20 (Friday) departure from Helsinki by evening ferry to Stockholm
April 21-22 (Saturday-Sunday) Traveling to Amsterdam
April 23 (Monday) Visit to INHOLLAND University of Applied Sciences
April 24 (Tuesday) Visit to Utrecht University of Applied Sciences – drive to Brussels
April 25 (Wednesday) Visit to European Parliament in Brussels plus several EU agencies
April 26 (Thursday) Drive to Berlin
April 27 (Friday) Visit to Berlin School of Economics and Law
April 28-29 (Saturday-Sunday) Back to Helsinki (either ferry from Germany to Finland or ferry&drive combo via Baltic states)

There will be free time to get to know Amsterdam, Brussels and Berlin as well. Better schedule will be sent to you as soon as the programme develops a bit further.
Ütrecht last summer

What does this cost? I am trying to keep it in 100-120 euros per student, rest would be paid by us. It includes transportation and accommodation, but you would pay your own food. I know you have exams that week but those won’t be a problem. I will talk with the teachers and they will be organized either before or after the trip.

This is your chance to get to see Europe with very little investment – in great company, too! More info to come after the week 8 holiday.

Cheers!

Marko"
Berlin Baby!

FUUUUUUUUCK YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

This would is going to be so amazing!! (As long as we can reschedule all those marketing/economic/math -finals/presentations BEFORE the trip and not after... or Metropolia's GPA will experience a major dip... ;D)

I'm also excited that we would go on this trip with European Business Administration (EBA) students and not only us, European Management students :]
Picnic in Amsterdam feat. Marty !

And hey... I've been CRAAAVING to go back to Berlin, so I AM STOKED.

ah, love life!!!!!!!

But, now, time to go pack for Poland. Flight tomo! ;)

PS. For those of you who might ask, why are we visiting all these universities in Europe: I'm doing a double degree, and a compulsory exchange in one of the partner unis is integrated into our programme. Berlin and Ütrecht are two out of the five partner unis we have in our (EM) programme. The school in Amsterdam, on he other hand, is one of EBA's partners.

PPS. I am not looking forward to that cruise to Stockholm.......... I guess I am just getting too old!

PPPS. Finally Brussels we shall meet...<3 and not only from the window of a train!

Running away from the cops... twice

17.1.2012

Jesus, what a journey back home!!!

Woke up, Milka came to get me, and I was pretty sure I wouldn't get any of the souvenirs bought... I especially didn't have anything for my dad yet, because I had relied on the idea that I would go the Denpasar surely at one point and buy a kilo of Saffron from the local market. Well, didn't happen.

Managed to sort things though because Milka was a doll and drove me around <3 You are the best, girl! I bought my mom not-the-original, but still with-the-same-technique-made as the "most expensive coffee in the world" aka shit coffee (made in Indonesia). Original brand costs nearly 15€. And you know what the secret ingredient is? Shit. That's right. They get cats to shit and make coffee out of it... NICE.

Also, managed to sort the Saffron business... My dad can now say he is a very happy owner of Saffron worth of 4000€ ! I read on Lonely Planet, that you could buy Saffron for 230 000 rps/kilo at Denpasar's market, but actually, I managed to get it for an even better price! Milka drove me to Bintang Market and I was shocked to only find 50 gram bags of Saffron "fuuuuu i'm not gonna get my dad anything.. he won't do anything with this amount of Saffron". But then a light bulb lit in my head.. 1000g/50grams=20 bags and if one bag costs 7200rps, 7200 x 20 = 144 000 rps. I had to calculate again just to be sure - no fucking way, it's actually cheaper to buy it this way than from the market as a bulk ! I guess cause these bags are for locals and thus priced for locals... At the market I doubt I would've even got it for 230 000rps.. At least in Ubud they asked 250 000rps for _300_ grams. I was laughing  at the thought of emptying a plastic bag worth of tiny saffron bags on the table, when my dad would only be expecting a large package :D "Yeah, bought you a kilo...in 20 bags!" So yeah kids, paid less than 13€ for a kilo of Saffron.. do the math.

Anyway, we headed to the beach and I got my last share of Padang Food. I WILL MISS YOU, dear delicious Padang! Milka got her toe nails painted and when the lady asked me whether I wanted mine too, I was liek whatta hell, gotta get rid of this money anyways and I have probably 7 layers of black nail polish on my nails, which would be good to get cleaned up.

After the beach we headed to Kuta because this batini dyed singlet had been creeping in my mind for 2 weeks now so I wanted to buy it. Spent the rest of my money on those two tops and then Milka announced that we should go get my stuff from Canggu and leave to the airport. As we were driving and almost on the free way, a fucking cop tries to pull us over for me not having a helmet - we just speeded off.

When we got my stuff, and headed back towards Kuta (since the airport was that way) we get stuck in the lights. There's a line of four car ad heaps of scooter before us as I spot a cop - and a motor bike cop ! I tell Milka about this and tell her to get on the right hand side as soon as possible. It was nerve wreckingly exciting ducking behind Milka's PINK helmet so that the cop wouldn't notice my helmetlesness. What made it more exciting was that we were stuck in the lights. Just then as I am hiding behing Milka's back, I saw the neon yellow vest and the police hat shifting to the right hand side - to the side we were on. I try squinting as small as I can but the cop has noticed us and tells us to pull over with this angry expression on his face. We got off of he bike and the cop goes "You are not wearing a helmet and you ran away already once when I stopped you" - FUUUCK, it's the same cop : D

Milka had to go to his booth and I was just laughing at the thought that Mika doesn't even have a license.. Wasn't concerned though about that because I knew he Indo cops probably have no idea what the real Finnish Driver's License looks like. I was more worried about the sum we would have to pay him. I didn't have ANY money left.. I only have 150 000rps to get out of the country (airport tax). Milka returned and told me the cop wanted 200 000 rps but Milka had told him she had no money "go talk to your friend". As we were discussing what we would do (only pay the standard 50 000rps and I would pay Milka back with a back transfer) we saw the cop getting on his bike and speeding off.

"SHIIT SHIIT GET ON THE BIKE, DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE - FUCK, THIS COP WON'T LET ME GET ON MY PLANE FOR SURE IF HE CATCHES US LEAVING FOR THE _SECOND TIME_ TODAY!"

It was truly adrenalin-sparking business being driving the SAME _ONE WAY ROAD_  the cop was driving on. Not to mention that, as usual, the road was stuck with traffic and thus we could bump into him any minute. I kept my eyes open for the cops neon yellow vest as Milka drove. "STOP STOP STOP!!!!!"  Milk stopped JUST a _METER_ behind the cop ! He had pulled over some westerner and I was so amazed when the cop just took off withough noticing us.. I mean, we were so close that he should've probably seen Milka damn _pink_ helmet flashing in is rear-view mirror.

The cop took a right and we were sooo happy because the airport was on the left <3 We managed to get to the airport and I said bye and cya to my Milkyway <3 Promised her, that if she would get fined on the way back home, I would pay her back via bank transfer :D

Problems didn't end here though... oh no, not at all. As I payed my airport fee and proceeded to get my passport checked, the guy tells me
"you've overstayed your visa with one day"
"what?? noo... no, I mean I came here on the 17.12 and today's the 16th of Jan, right?" "Yeah... 31 days"
*did some counting*
"Oh nooo, what now?"
"You have to pay 200 000"
"200 000 '?!?!?! bu I don't have _ANY_ money *I show him my empty wallet thoroughly*"
"Get some from the ATM"
"But.. I don't have anything on my bank account.. Everything's on my savings account"

So I ended up having to get money out with my credit card (Thank god for Mastercard<3) and although I had to pay the same amount I payed for my whole month's visa, I was just laughing about it :) ..Although I still have no idea, whether the guy just came up with the number... I do not trust the officials in Indonesia... :D

Had my last Bintang on the airport (broke but still worth the 5€ I swipped with my Mastercard) and got on the plane to Kuala Lumpur. In Kuala Lumpur I nearly missed my flight because I was too busy reading blogs and didn't hear any announcements (there were none??). When I got to Amsterdam I felt utterly shit. All my muscles were hurting, I was chronically getting cold shivers, then again at times I felt as hot as an oven, my eyes hurt and the lights looked too bright and I felt very disoriented. I felt like crying because I knew I still had 6 hours to go before I would be home.

Now, writing this three days later, I can tell you, I apparently got TONSILLITIS. WTF. Was a bit surprised when the doc called me :D Oh well, like my mate said:
"mut mita suurempi fail sita parempi matka aina

se on sellane laki

oon huomannu tan kun oon suorittanu empiirisia tutkimuksia"

PS. Jeff told me on Facebook, that only the driver is supposed to have a helmet. But the cops just pull over westerners who don't know about the law with the hope of a bribe..

Rocky Road to Canggu

6.1.2012 Leaving Balangan Beach to Canggu

I was eating some lunch at Flowerbud when Jonas called me. Five minutes later I was running down the rocky hill without any shoes back to my beach shack and screaming ”Milka ! Milka ! YOU ARE COMING TO CANGGU WITH ME!!!”.

Milka, the Finnish girl whom I had met the night before (she was my next door neighbour) with whom I hadn’t talked that much with though, didn’t need a lot of persuasion when I mentioned that there were 5 guys in Canggu (and one was mine!) and that they were living in a villa :D

We packed everything really quickly and wondered how the fuck we would make it to Canggu with two girls, two backpacks and two heavy bags and only one scooter. Not to mention that neither of us had a drivers license and I didn’t have a helmet. Recipe for destruction much?

And man was our journey hard and long and full of obstacles. When we were climbing up the hill to reach the bike with Milka and Maja, this Swedish girl who was helping us, Maja asked me ”don’t you have shoes Sandra?” – As I was walking without any shoes – ”Nah, fuck shoes” – Just then I could feel my big toe sink in the dirt and hit something sharp. When I lifted my leg up, my whole foot was soon in blood. Fuu.

Luckily Atcha nd Paolo had given me a bottle of whisky (they don’t drink and had only used it to clean a wound) and I just took it out of my bag’s side pocket, disinfected my cut and put a bandade on.

The next obstacle came when we were getting on the bike and Maja noted that our back tyre was completely flat. We drove out of the gate and decided with Milka that I should just stay at the gates next the security guard booth with our bags while Milka would go and change the tyre. MAN that was the longest of waits. I’m super impatient already and if I know that there’s a nice guy waiting for me in Canggu, then its gonna be the longest 45 minutes ever :D The worst was that I had no idea what Milka was doing and where she was so I had no idea how much longer I would have to still wait talking small talk with the guards while feeling all nauseous from eating too much noodles in the past 2,5 weeks.

I was sooo esctatic when I saw Milka’s pink motor bike helmet approaching ! ”I’M SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU THAT I COULD KISS YOU!”  And of we went with out rain ponchos fluttering in the air. I had been a bit anxious whether Milka would come back telling me it was too late to drive to Canggu, since the sun was setting, but luckily the case wasn't so <3

What would normally be a 40 minute drive took us two hours (plus switching the tyre -episode) thanks to the rain, traffic and numerous times we drove around in the dark around Canggu, looking for ”Canggu Deli” or ”Deus”. Jonas also had a hard time telling us on the phone where to go and also the reception as pretty shit on my phone. On top of that Jonas had to leave soon to Denpasar to see his school’s secretary so we were in a hurry.

When we FINALLY found Deus and saw Jonas waiting for us in front of it I could’nt have been more relieved and happy (I seriously thought there would be no way we would make it to he guys’ place that night in that darkness).  We first chucked my stuff in the place where Jonas was staying; at a villa his french mate Jean was taking care of (it was owned my Jean’s friend). Then we drove to the villa Jeff was babysitting for this ex-FBI agent (no kidding, he’s this guy that has written these books about his carrier).

When Jonas and Mortitz (along with Jojo and Flo who had gone to sleep at their homestay) returned,  they told us they would have no worry at being at the top 5% of their class (which their uni in Germany demanded for them to get their courses from Indonesia accepted) – if you know what I mean ;) wine, dine and a bit of money is how to roll in Indonesia.

ps. LOVE LOVE LOVE people like Milka who are spontaneous, don't over think stuff and go with the flow <3 Life is all about people who act, not just talk.

The Diceman

5.1.2012

Since seeing the episode of the sex, drug and alcohol crazed ”Mile High” (you know that show where the flight attendants and stewards just fuck each other?) in which one of the guy serves bread rolls on the plane with his dick in the tray (inspired by The Diceman -book) I have been wanting to read ”The Diceman” by Luke Rhinehart. I have had some misfortune in doing so, since always when I’ve tried to order the book to a book store, so I can read it on my travels, my plane has already managed to take off with me before the book has even arrived. But, this time I was smart enough and ordered it from Ebay (waaaay cheaper) and I have been enjoying the company of the Diceman.

The story goes that there is this psychiatrist, Luke Rhinehart (author and main character the same... is it a REAL autobiography, I still haven’t found out) who is bored of his life and depressed. One drunken poker night he randomly chooses to throw the die whether he should rape the lady downstairs (yeah... pretty fuckign grim, i know) and The Diceman is born.

Already since my Australia/Morocco trip I have been carrying a die with me but I’ve never had the incentive to use it (I usually end up doing the crazy stuff anyways) - Not before today!

We were drunk/hungover in the morning (well, at eleven o’clock) with Jasmine and getting our brazilian waxes done (too much info?) (ps. so cheap !! no even 7 euros, yes please) and I was trying to figure out whether I should go back to Balangan Beach or with Jasmine to Canggu. I love love love love love Balangan Beach and really crave waking up in the beach shack to the sound of the waves and I also miss Mansis (the lovely old owner lady who had a witch-laugh) and her food (banana pancakes, yummy tea and Mie Goreng Special of course!). So I reeeeeally wanted to get my ass back there and surf. On the other hand, there was Canggu, a place I still haven’t been to. I really had a right time figuring out what to do, so I took out my die.

Pairless numbers and I go to Canggu and pairs again are for Balangan. I threw a 5. FUCK. Knew I shoud’ve put the numbers the other way around! But what the die indicates, one must follow.

So we hoped into a taxi (with a meter) and drove to Canggu. Man I was starting to come down from my yesterday’s drunkness and feel tired. I was getting frustrated cause Jasmine didn’t know the hostel’s address (yes, and actual hostel!) where her ”most latest Aussie discovery” was staying at. What was getting even more on my nerves was that our taxi driver deemed like a anti-social person who didn’t care to roll down his window and ask someone for our hostel (it was actually I who ended up rolling my window down and asking Permisi, Di mana Ecolife Hostel?).

We finally found the hostel and at this point I was really starting to get my hangover munchies on. When the receptionist told us the price (which was higher than a normal HOTEL room’s) and asked for our passports (man I SWEAR I’ll forget mine) I told Jasmine I was going to bail. I swung my backpack on my shoulders and got back in the taxi of our confussed looking taxi driver. ”Can you take me to Balangan Beach?”

I thought for a while if I was cheating the die, but decided I wasn’t. I did as the die had ordered me to – I went to Canggu. Now I am happy (yet just started feelign a bit sick...) and going o nthe taxi to Balangan <3 Right decision.

PS. Never EVER have I had a more fun waxing experience than today. Imagine two still drunk girls at the beauty salon in next-to-each-other stalls (that were only separated by a curtain !!!! I may have seen Jasmine’s vajayjay oh looooord) giggling hysterically. EPIC.
PPS. Jasmine’s words after her first waxing ever: ”I don’t think I would’ve gotten one if I wouldn’t have been drunk” 8D
PPPS. Yeah, too much info but what the hell

Leaving Gili T

2.1.2012 Leaving Gili T

Lombok

I was a bit sad to discover Carlos had left early in the mornign without saying bye to us :/ We also decided to bounce since all our friends had left and Jonas was leaving too back o Bali to surf. We bumped into Aishah and Chris (Kelly had already left the day before) and said by to them! :/

We also bumped into Damien again ! Oh shit, I’ve COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN TO TELL YOU GUYS ABOUT THIS! But remember those Aussie men who were kind enough to share their Christmas meal with me, Raksu ans Jasmine at Kuta Beach? Well they had told us that they would also head to Gili T to spend the New Years so we had kept our eyes open incase of bumping into them. And actually, the first time we saw Damien (the friendliest, funniest and kindest one) we were sitting in the tree house bar and saw someone riding the bicycle at the speed of a lightning. ”DAMIEN!” I screamed. He was clearly super intoxicated since he just replied ”I’M HERE” and kept riding his bike forward without even stoping nor looking at who had screamed his name :D

The second time we bumped into himwas last night when I was taking money out from the ATM after dining at Mozart. When I got out of the ATM stall, me and Jasmien soon discovered Jonas was talking to Damien (!) – I mean, they didn’t even know each other...Small world island 8)

”Damien !!!!” He was so drunk :D He has missed his boat because he had been ”chassing skirts” 8D hahhah He was soooo funny. He was telling Jonas to take care of ”his girls” or he would ”kill ya with a grin on my face >:)” (imagine a guy that looks as kind as a teddybear saying this with the nicest smile on his face 8D). Jonas was laughing his ass off (pretty uge!) and Jasmine was giggling awkwardly when Damien was going on and on about Jasmine’s  ”flaming HULMUAVA hair” in Kuta’s night. ”She’s gorgeous!”

Anyway, so we bumped into Damien again at the harbour and we were all in the same boat !!!! :) It was a good boat trip on the roof of the boat. ALTHOUGH I was sad because I knew I was parting ways with Jonas soon since he was going surfing with this mates (”Fucking surfers... Always looking for the best wave” *Jonas just laughs*) and we were going to Nusa Lembongan (too little swell to get this surf addict to come with us). He did give me his Indonesian number though and told me a couple of times to call/text him when I got back on mainland :)

I said bye (”see you!”) to Jonas he got on the tourist shutle to Canggu as me, Jasmine and dear ol’ Damien got on the one to Sanur. Said bye to Damien (i’ll miss him...! Thank god for Facebook ;) ) and took the ferry to Nusa Lembongan. I was so _Fucking_ happy that moment. The sea wind blowing against my face, headphones on and knowing I’d only had to kill a couple days to see Jonas again :) (:

PS. Forgot to mention about this bu I had the most fail attempt in getting food and cash on New years eve’s morning. As we had gone out the night before, I was hungover and craving to get some water and food. I has been borrowing money from Jasmine because I was too lazy to drag my ass to the ATMs. When I finally did so, I realized the importance of flip flops. I didn’t get any money out of the three ATMs I tried (out of money???? fuu) and at the same time I was getting tiny ELECTRIC SHOCKS. As I have been manifesting ”Fuck Shoes” and walking everywhere barefoot, I have gotten a couple electric shocks due to no rubber on me (like flip flops). It was pretty ridiculous trying to get my bankcard out of the machine with the fear of getting electrocuted :D Later on when I did get money out, I was wearing Jasmine’s flip flops >:D
